REV Racer Recharging at RAC Station

The REV Racer is the second battery-electric conversion undertaken by UWA’s Renewable Energy Vehicle Project (REV) in 2009/2010.  The cart is based on a Lotus Elise S2 and has been fitted with a UQM PowerPhase 75kW motor and controller. It contains 83 battery cells with a total of 266V and 16kWh, giving it a range of about 110km. It is not possible to test the car’s maximum speed on WA roads or race tracks.

The photos show the REV Racer recharging on WA’s first fast recharging station at the RAC headquarters in Wellington Street, West Perth. The station is a level-2 fast charging station providing 32A, 240V, single phase. This charging station has been made available to all RAC members as well as to all WA EV Trial participants.
