WA EV Trial

Eleven Ford Focus's were converted to electric by EVWorks in 2011 and was given to a trial partner, listed below. The cars were fitted with GPS tracking units by EVWorks and UWA which upload the vehicles movement patterns, associated battery level and charging/headlight/heater/airconditioner/ignition status. With this information we hope to better understand how electric cars are going to change the way people commute and how electric cars will shape Western Australia's transportation and infrastructure future. From January 2011 to August 2012 we have collected over 2.7 million data points from the trial vehicles, with over 5000 separate journeys averaging 9.3km's per trip and 1600 charges.

The data will continue to be collected until September 2012, and be constantly analysed.
